The axial skeleton including pelvis, is a fundamental entity which exists only in humans and follows clearly defined orientations in the space. The overall alignment of the spine is called the "sagittal balance" and is in the normal human being, in harmony with the orientation of the pelvis, called spinopelvic harmony. This curse covers the whole spectrum of what is considered normal balance, and on one side the normal balance and on the other side the causes and manifestation of a malalignment of the spinopelvic entity. The knowledge of these facts is a must for every specialist who deals with the spine.
